Resisting the Urge to Dwell on the Past | Shorts

In just the last couple of days, I have been doing all I can to resist the urges to dwell on my past. Whether it’s a past mistake/failure, or breakthrough that I had experienced at some point. Regardless, dwelling on those things have proven to be less than helpful. Sure, they do still remind me of the lessons that I need to remember (so I can avoid making the same mistakes again), but beyond that, they don’t serve any positive purpose in my life right now. By giving in to that temptation and dwelling on my past, good or bad, only ends up consuming more headspace and mental energy. What really matters though (and it’s something that I’m trying my best to consciously remind myself), is that I focus on what I already have now, and find ways to make the best/most of it. And that is exactly what I’m focused on doing today.
