It’s the second and final semester for my Post-Diploma course in UX Design & Management at NYP. I gotta be honest, I was really looking forward to it. I’ve always been someone that looked forward to school. But the reason may not be what you’re thinking of. What always excites me about education and school isn’t the social interactions, although they do have their moments. But no. 80% of the time, I enjoyed school because it is always a learning opportunity. The one thing that motivates me to stay engaged is because I get to learn something new every single time that I’m in the classroom. Excitement aside, I am also returning to this final semester, filled with intense humility, especially after the rude awakening last semester. Despite being considered by others as a “street-smart” UX practitioner and front-end specialist, I’ve realized that there was stuff that I didn’t know about. On top of that, trying to manage both a full-time career and part-time studies was more challenging than I had imagined. That certainly took me by surprise. So, as I continue with this final semester, I am being reminded to be ever so humble because there will always be more that I can learn.
