Well, I’ve done my best to stay away during this period of time. My goal remains the same, to post/share a little less during this season of my life while I take the time and energy to focus on the stuff in my life that truly matters. My top priorities. Lord knows, self-expression (aka blogging) is my best form of release when it comes to managing any kind of stress or tension in my life. FYI, I have been keeping a private journal entry again. In recent years, I have been starting and stopping it repeatedly.
Anyway, to avoid getting too side tracked, I wanted to talk about one of the key reasons why I’m looking for freelance gigs again. It wasn’t just because of my personal debts (which is clearly bad enough). But it’s much deeper than that. The real reason I wanted to make more extra income is because of my elderly parents, and how I want to do more so that I can also take care of them during their golden years. Lately, I was reminded of this a lot. It like a thought that wouldn’t leave. So yeah, I figured I would write about it now.
Lord knows, it is time for me to step up. The timing of it all isn’t ideal. I mean, considering everything else, it is clearly not the most ideal. But I also know that God’s will and timing is always perfect in His eyes, even when it doesn’t seem to make sense to us. So, I’m going to have to learn to trust that He knows what is best. And if He wants this to happen, then I can trust that He will provide me with every available freelance opportunity possible.
One final thing, recently, I’ve managed to link up my personal bank acc to my PayPal account. In the past, as a freelancer, I would have these opportunities to work with overseas clients (not the big ones). Usually, these gigs would pay US$500 to US$1000 per gig. And these were small, repeated clients over time. My hope is that by linking up my accounts, it would make it easier for me to receive payments should there be an overseas clients any time soon.
