Quotefancy: One of my Favourite Quotes from Denzel Washington

Hey morning everyone! It’s Monday and so, a brand new week. Honestly, I’m really appreciate the “pause” that I’ve taken in the past week to just sit, be still with myself, and to take the time that was needed to process some deeply buried issues from my past. As I begin to move forward this morning, I feel like my “pack” is lighter, and I get to begin this first day of a new journey with a 100% energy 🔋, something that I never got to experience before. There more I thought 💭 about it, the more I began to understand why.

See, when you live in a fast-paced society like Singapore, or Tokyo, London and New York, it always feels like we’re constantly on the move. And for a very long time, I felt like my former self has been trying to fit into that life of constant motion too. Constantly moving, but not quite getting anywhere. I am very sure he felt like he was “moving very fast”, but here’s the thing he never did realize, “Being ‘fast’ is useless if you’re only reaching the wrong destination ‘faster’.”

And that is what I felt when I considered the kind of life that my former self had been living. Everything for the past 20 years has felt like a blur. Looking back on the 20 years, I do see some progress, sure. But in comparison to all the “movement”, the progress feels insignificant, out of proportion. It is like…”A LOT OF MOVEMENT, AND NOT ENOUGH PROGRESS.”

And so, while I am waiting for my freelance client to get back to me with the OTP for the ChatGPT login, I thought I would use this time to share something meaningful on my blog.

“Just because you are doing a lot more doesn’t you are getting a lot done. Don’t confuse movement with progress.” – Denzel Washington

I wish you guys a truly meaningful and fruitful week ahead.
