Every single time that I look at my current setup, I am reminded to be grateful and appreciate what I already have right now. I’m also reminded of a time not too long ago when this was all I can imagine and wish for, and now it has manifested for real in my life. It has been a reminder of just how blessed I am despite the challenging circumstances that I’m facing right now. These positive things in my life serve as a reminder that while things aren’t ideal, there is always something to be grateful for. A reason for me to genuinely smile on the inside. And though I’m not quite where I want to be yet, looking at what I have today is still a reminder that I’m making progress (however small relative to my larger goals/mission). I’m reminded of this line that was said in the 2006 film “Step Up”, “It’s not about what you have, but what you make with what you’ve got.”
That is often what I’m reminded of when I look at the progress that I’ve made so far. Speaking from my experiences, the path to receiving more [better things] is by learning to appreciate and be grateful for what I already have and then making the most of it.
