I want to try something different. Same way that YouTube and other social media platforms now have a “Shorts” section, as a writer, I want my own personal “Shorts” section for my writing. On my way back from lunch today, I was reminded that my former understanding and views about what productivity has been warped. Warped by the cultural and societal norms of what it should be or look like. But there is a clear difference between being busy and having purpose and direction. Currently, I am undergoing my very own mindset change. I’m learning to see that being productive doesn’t have to be about how much we can accomplish in a given time, but the quality of the output and the intensity of the effort that we put into it. For a very long time, I have bought into that belief that just because I am able to cross off a lot of items on my to-do list, it meant that I was being productive. In hindsight, I actually never really gave 100% to many of those things that I was doing. I couldn’t. Not when my attention and energy had been stretched thin. Today, my mindset on productivity is more focused on delivering in quality than quantity.
