20 I am doing this so all who see this miracle will understand what it means – that it is the LORD who has done this, the Holy One of Israel who created it.

Isaiah 41:20 [NLT]

If I were a boxer, then the terms I will be using to describe myself today is that I’m not back to fighting weight capacity yet. My health condition is currently still on the mend. It still requires quite a lot of effort for me to make it over to the library this morning. Walking was super slow, so does sitting down or getting up. It all requires double, triple the effort for something that we used to do so naturally on any given day. Everything that I have been experiencing lately has made me appreciate the basic things in life that we have so easily taken for granted. Now, I’m just looking forward to being able to do those basic daily stuff without needing to exert myself.

But on the brighter side of things, I am grateful to God for sending someone into my life recently. It is that compassionate individual who had helped me to pay for the medical bill when I really needed it. It is that same medical bill that would give me the pain medication that I could take this morning before stepping out of the house. Though it doesn’t remove the discomfort that I can still experience, I am thankful that at least I won’t have to deal with the occasional sharp pain that comes with having an external Thrombosed Hemorrhoid.

It’s Not About the Miracle Itself, But the Miracle Worker

I suppose that is where God wants me today. To be in this place of understanding so that I can see that it is not so much about the miracle itself, but the miracle worker. When God does something miraculous to help us, it’s always very easy to get swept up in all the amazing things that He is doing for us, giving to us that we lose sight of the most important thing – HIM. It’s always important to constantly remind ourselves that without God, we would never get to experience this miraculous signs and wonders in our lives.

So the next time that something really wonderful happens in your life, don’t just be thankful for the miracle itself, thank God for it. Praise Him. Give Him all the glory.

Think About the People That Have Good to You

When we think about how to apply the word of God into our daily lives, I think this is one of those really good examples that we can use. When we think about someone that comes into our lives to help us, give us something that we need, lend us a hand. Do you just thank them for the help and then move on? Or do you wish to spend the time to appreciate this individual, maybe when things get better, bring them out for a meal to show your gratitude. Do something that goes beyond just being a receiver.

Remember, it is the person behind that act of kindness and compassion that matters more than the actual act itself. Remember the people that have helped you. Keep them in your mind. Because one day, when you are in a much better place, they might actually be the ones who might need your help as well.

Personal Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You that the pain medication has worked today. I am grateful that I can sit at the library right now and type this daily bread entry. I know that there will be some discomfort to manage today, but I am grateful that I am no longer bound to the bed for most of the day.

Thank You for also using this time to remind me that when there is something good in my life, that I should remember that it is the blesser, the giver that matters, more than the actual act of giving itself. Lately, I have experienced both the miracles that You have performed, as well as the kindness and compassion of others that I had experienced so far.

While it may be easy to get caught up in blessings and acts of kindness that I have received so far, I am reminded to think of the people behind those acts of kindness and compassion. The people that have really helped me out of a really bad situation. Without them, I would never have made it.

And more importantly Lord, with You, I would never have made it.

So today, I continue to remain humble, knowing that I still need help because my current challenges/troubles are not entire resolved yet. And I stand ready to receive the help that I will need from You and from others around me.

I vow to give You all of the praise, and all the glory. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Amen.
